OUTREACH COORDINATOR
Americorps – Goodwill VISTA Partnership
OVERVIEW

Lights Out Gallery is working through the arts to transform a former snowshoe factory into a community hub and art gallery. We are building both our local and statewide networks to help create access to the arts and connect local artists to a wider audience. By partnering with the local/state art community, the Outreach Coordinator will raise awareness of our plan to build a community center that includes a co-working space, dance studio, and makers' space as well as an art gallery to boost the economy and provide opportunities for access to high-speed internet and equipment that is not accessible to many in rural Maine.

  • Help us build a base of volunteers and donors to help us make a community co-working space.

  • Conduct special fundraising projects and community engagement events like a fundraising video, shorts, engaging social media campaigns and a summer art fundraising show.

  • Maintain and grow our large following on Instagram, Facebook and via email. Create and manage a Tiktok account.

  • Build a system to keep track of donations and volunteer hours.

  • Work with local community members and businesses to schedule,
fundraise, and thank all who become involved with our project.

The Goodwill VISTA Partnership works to reduce poverty in communities across Maine. Members build capacity at nonprofits and other agencies to reduce poverty by creating new programs, managing advisory boards, helping with fundraising and grant writing, increasing social media presence, recruiting volunteers and more.
