David Lonebear Sanipass

David Lonebear Sanipass is a Mi’kmaq Storyteller, Flute Maker, Speaker, & Artist. David grew up in Northern Maine (Aroostook County). His family is known worldwide for Mi'kmaq basketry. David has spoken to audiences of all ages sharing stories from his ancestors while encouraging listeners to find new and different ways to see and experience the world. David is the last who still makes the Mi'kmaq Northern Block Flute. His lightning struck cedar flutes are played around the world. Each unique, and tuned to a traditional song taught to David by his grandfather. David currently lives in Maine with his family and enjoys making jewelry, tools, and flutes.
