Alan Crichton

My artwork seems to go in so many directions, and it has for years. This used to bother me - where was the continuity? Over time, I’ve gotten used to this seeming inconsistency and finally noticed a common visual thread that seems to involve the tangles and distortions of life. Much as I might want, life doesn’t proceed in a straight line. Many directions occur simultaneously, and so does my work in making art.
